Down River Days 2018

On the last Sunday in July every year the quiet city park in Ione, WA becomes filled with the sound of revving snowmobile engines.

Spectators line up in the hot sun to watch these snowmobiles race across the Pend Oreille River.

Of course, not all of them make it across.........

That is when the boat crew springs into action and recovers the sled.

While images are powerful, there is nothing like the sound these racing machines running across the water.

Last but not least, the sad part. I lost my drone at this event. I took off and within about a minute I had a "disconnect" error. I am offering a generous cash reward if anyone finds it. It is a GoPro Karma that has my name, phone number and FFA registration number on the bottom of it.
